*TBD*: Community Finale Night: Updated Renew/Cancel Plans
We’re so down to the wire, it’s feels as if it’s cutting into already. So, cut to the chase.
Updated HashTag plans which supersede anything and everything we’ve posted. There are actually no changes, but this will be the post we update through Friday.
Until we have a verdict or 7pm, add…

Do you have video footage from CommuniCon?
Hi Human Beings! Our wonderful and amazing (and volunteer!) CommuniCon videographers/filmmakers are working hard on Intro to Communal Conventions (to be released May 10!), and want to make sure they cover as much of the event as possible. If you have any video footage from the event that you’d be willing to share, please send a link to the video(s) via twitter (@communiconnews) or email (communicon1 (at) gmail (dot) com).
PLEASE NOTE: By providing a link to your video(s), you are agreeing to have your video (or any portions thereof) included in the CommuniCon documentary film: Intro to Communal Conventions. Sending a link to your video(s) does not guarantee that it will be included. However, if any portion of your video footage is used in the film, you will receive Special Thanks in the credits.
Thanks so much! Hope you’re all looking forward to this film as much as I am!

Hello my blueberries! Some wonderful people shot a bunch of footage at CommuniCon, and are putting together a documentary/short film, titled Intro to Communal Conventions. The film will be out in early May. In the meantime, we’ve been blessed with a trailer to tide us over.
This trailer is shot and edited by the fantastic Damien Barriga (@DamienBarriga), whom you may remember from such times as the awesome CommuniCon 2013 Intro video that was released on Tuesday. Thank you, Damien!
Special thanks also (from Damien and me) to Brittany Sterrett (@britsterrett) and Annie Jeong (@annievidivici)!
ENYOY!

Hey all. Unfortunately, the trailer is taking a little longer than expected to edit, because our gracious (VOLUNTEER!) videographer/editor wants it to be wonderful. Sorry for the delay. It will be ready tomorrow.

Human Beings! Check out the NEVER BEFORE SEEN CommuniCon intro video, which we weren’t able to play at the convention because of technical difficulties. Enjoy this while you look forward to the official CommuniCon documentary trailer, which will be released this Thursday night.

Help me avoid becoming a 32-year-old who bags groceries for, like, five bucks an hour plus tips
Hi everyone! So, I was really hoping to avoid this, but CommuniCon ended up costing me quite a bit of money, even after I applied the money from tickets and merchandise. I fronted all the costs myself, and was really hoping to break even, but that didn’t happen. I intentionally kept the ticket cost as low as possible, because I didn’t want anyone to miss out because of money. Unfortunately, while the ticket money covered the facility costs, I underestimated the costs of things beyond the facility itself (like sound equipment rental), overestimated the amount of interest in merchandise, and had no idea certain other costs would even exist (like event liability insurance).
So, I’m asking for a little help to try to break even (or at least come closer). If any of you that attended CommuniCon think it was worth more than the $25 admission cost, and have some extra dollars, that’d be really great. And if any of you who didn’t attend have some extra dollars and don’t mind parting with them to help put me in a better position to plan next year’s, that would be really greater!
If you’re interested and able to contribute to the Help Gillian Not Have Lost Quite So Much Money Putting Together CommuniCon Fund, you can use PayPal to send a “Gift” under the “Personal” tab. The email address is communicon1 (a) gmail (dot) com. If you are able to donate $25 (or more), I should be able to send you a small token of thanks.
Regardless of whether you are able to donate $0 or $1 or anything else, thanks for reading this, and thanks for helping to make the inaugural CommuniCon so wonderful!
Love you, my blueberries. Hope to see you at the next one!
